Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using Violingo (the "Extension" or "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with any part, you may not use the Service.

License & Usage

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use Violingo for personal learning. You may not:

  • Reverse engineer or decompile the source code
  • Scrape, crawl, or mass-download content from Netflix/YouTube
  • Share your account or use multiple accounts to bypass restrictions
  • Modify the Extension or create derivative works without permission

Intellectual Property

Violingo owns the Extension and all content within it (except third-party services). You own your vocabulary lists and notes, but grant Violingo permission to store and sync them across your devices.

Third-Party Content

Violingo integrates with Netflix and YouTube but doesn't host their content. You're responsible for:

  • Maintaining valid Netflix/YouTube subscriptions
  • Complying with their terms of service
  • Respecting copyright laws in your use of subtitles

Credits & Payments

Credit System: Free sign-ups get 50 credits (valid 7 days). Monthly subscriptions:

  • Basic: $10/month = 100 credits
  • Pro: $70/month = unlimited

How it works: Credits expire 7 days after grant for free users. Monthly credits renew each billing cycle and don't roll over.

Billing: Stripe handles all payments securely. Charges recur monthly on your billing date. Cancel anytime—effective at cycle end.

Refunds: Request within 7 days of charge. No refunds for partial months or unused credits.

Your Responsibilities

  • Use Violingo in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Keep your login credentials and payment info confidential
  • Report unauthorized account access immediately
  • Don't use Violingo for commercial purposes without permission
  • Don't resell, share, or exploit credits
  • Maintain active Netflix/YouTube subscriptions to use Violingo

Limitation of Liability

Violingo is provided "as-is" without warranties. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for your subscription.

Disclaimer

We don't guarantee the Extension will be uninterrupted or error-free. Third-party services (Netflix, YouTube, Supabase) may experience downtime. We're not responsible for their failures or network issues outside our control.

Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or abuse the Service. Upon termination, you can request a copy of your learning data within 30 days.

Updates to These Terms

We may update these terms anytime. Continued use means you accept the changes. We'll announce material changes via email or extension settings.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law. Disputes are resolved through binding arbitration, not court.
